An interesting thing came out of the iDate2005 Hong Kong event last week was the size of the market. It was estimated that the current size of the online dating market (including mobile) in Asia is between USD $40 to USD $100 million in 2005.
However, is was predicted that the Asian online Dating market will exceed that of the N. American market (currently at USD $500 million in 2005) over the next 5 years.

Did they speak about Chinese Population? That will be severe unbalanced until next / for to 20 years. There will be nearly 40 million men more than women!

China was discussed in detail at this event. As was India.
The markets are expected to grow significantly. The issue with China with 4-8% more men than women basically mean that Online Dating will do very well in the coming years ahead.
Yes, you missed a good time. Hong Kong is a fun place. |
